Design Details
Kanjivaram sarees are woven using a unique and labor-intensive technique. The distinctive feature is the use of three shuttles to weave the saree, incorporating different weaving patterns for the body and border. Zari, which is a silver metallic thread, is extensively used in Kanjivaram sarees. The zari work is often incorporated into the borders, pallu (the decorative end of the saree), and sometimes the body of the saree. The zari work adds a touch of opulence and grandeur to the saree.
