Hunar SetuHunar Setu is a social initiative that connects skilled artisans and craftsmen with buyers, businesses, and communities that value their work. India’s artisans carry centuries of tradition, culture, and craftsmanship, but many of them struggle to access markets, technology, and fair opportunities. Hunar Setu was created to bridge this gap.https://www.hunarsetu.com/s/62ea2c599d1398fa16dbae0a/676523772eb3cf19c22b9674/hunarsetu1-logo-1--480x480.png

Grander as Coriander

Coriander, like cumin, is an annual plant from the parsley family. Also known as cilantro, it’s leaves are used as an herb and seeds are used as a spice. It is a tropical plant native to Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. Coriander can be used to describe the entire plant but commonly one uses it to refer to the spice produced from drying its seeds. Even its roots are used in Thai curries to add a pungent flavour.

The flavour of the coriander seeds is lemony and floral. It combines very well with cumin, together they add great flavour to the dishes. Most dishes require coriander seeds to be dry roasted before grinding and using in dishes, as otherwise the texture is tough to chew.

Our coriander seeds are wonderfully fragrant, the size is adequately big and owing to their freshness, are very green.

Give me some ideas where I can use it –
• Coriander loves cumin and cumin loves it back. Use both in tandem and you will achieve wonderful flavouring.
• Coriander seeds are used extensively in Biryani Masalas, curry powder recipes and other spice blends.
• Use powdered coriander seeds for marinades, soups, dry rubs curries as well as in baked goods.

Did you know?
If you take our suggestion and use cumin along with coriander, always keep the quantity of coriander more to give the perfect balance, ideally in ratio 1:3.
