A new generation pesticide from the Phenyl Pyrazole family is called fipronil 5% SC. Fipronil differs from the majority of commercial pesticides due to its mode of action. Mammals and insects have different target sites, and fipronil binds to the insect GABA chloride channel more tightly than it does to the mammalian channel, providing for useful selective toxicity. It is active via intake as well as contact, although ingestion works better. Fipronil doesn't have certain insecticides' quick knockdown action, thus insect mortality could seem a little gradual. But immediately after treatment, intermediate responses like stopping to feed may be noticed. After foliar spray, residual control is usually successful.  In addition to being a potent thripicide, it has shown a discernible plant growth enhancement (PGE) effect in a range of crops.
