Nursery period, spacing, seed rate, fertilizer dose and days to maturation vary with short, medium and long duration varieties. Grain of paddy could be (visual) graded as long slender, short, medium bold based on shape but could not be separated on mechanical grading minding. Textures variation though not permanent exists in paddy seeds.
