The BEARDED DRAGON has had quite a journey during it's evolution through time. Its origin is believed to be from Australia where the air is Dry and Very Warm. The Dragon likes to bask in the Sun and will spend hours just gazing into one thing they choose to zero in on. Not that it is considered it for food, but just that it likes the way the thing looks. These pleasant creatures can grow up to 6 ft. long. They are omnivores, which means they dine on live insects and greens. Note the insects must be live for proper nutrition elements. The Bearded Dragon can live for 7-12 years in happy climates. Should one choose to make a pet of a Bearded Dragon they must pay close attention to details in being a caregiver. The Dragons are noted for recognizing their owner's voices, and will become accustomed to understanding their names and reacting to the caller. They prefer to live on their own and are territorial and they only bite if they mistake something for food. Unlike their ancestors from long ago, they are docile, pleasant, mellow and enjoy human interactions when gently introduced to the human world.
