Dams of Akshaya character! Despite the construction of various dam projects, the Parambikulam Azhiyar Irrigation Project is hailed as the ``engineering marvel of Asia'', making the Kongu soil fertile. At a time when there were no modern technologies or huge machines, the Parambikulam Azhiyar project was developed with the main focus on engineering skills and human labor. A total of 11 dams, eight tunnels cut through the mountain, four hydroelectric power stations, 10 canals and level canals running for a distance of about 50 kilometers, the enormity of this project can still be awe-inspiring. We are proud to bring this book, which carries the history of the Great Irrigation Project, to future generations and explain the background of the engineering marvel of Asia.
