Lighter Than Yesterday

When the world sees achievement, why does the soul still ache for something more? Jai spent his life pursuing a dream inherited long before he could fully understand it. Armed with his grandfather’s faith and his own relentless discipline, he cracked one of the country’s toughest examinations and stepped into the rarefied world of power, prestige, and purpose. From crowded railway platforms and hostel corridors to the solemn machinery of the Indian Administrative Service, his life seemed to move steadily towards fulfilment. And yet, in the stillness that followed achievement, one question refused to leave him: Is this all there is? As ambition slowly gave way to awareness, Jai found himself drawn towards a different kind of journey—not outwards, but inwards. Tender, lyrical, and deeply introspective, Lighter than Yesterday is a meditation on love, grief, memory, and the invisible burdens we carry while trying to become who we are meant to be.
