Wash care for a raw silk saree

• Washing:
  • Hand wash in cold water.
  • Use a mild, silk-safe detergent.
  • Gently agitate the saree in the water for a few minutes; do not rub or scrub vigorously.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or bleach.
  • Rinse thoroughly with cold water.
• Drying:
  • Do not wring or twist the saree.
  • Gently roll the saree in a clean, absorbent towel to remove excess water.
  • Air dry the saree by laying it flat in a shaded, well-ventilated area.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, which can damage the fibers.
• Ironing:
  • Iron on the reverse side of the saree.
  • Use a low-heat setting.
  • It is best to iron while the fabric is slightly damp, not wet.
  • Consider using a pressing cloth for extra protection.
• Storage:
  • Avoid storing in plastic bags, as they trap moisture.
  • Wrap the saree in a soft, breathable cloth like muslin or cotton.
