Each wood-block printed garment is more than a piece of fashion - they are works of art in that the artisans who put these clothes together pour out their heart and soul. Despite being practised in numberless pockets across the subcontinent, the prints of each region has a characteristic set of motifs. This one from Pilkhuwa consists of a charming set of foliage, elaborate peacocks, and of course paisleys.
